Dyspepsia (heartburn/indigestion)

Dyspepsia is a medical term that covers disorders of the stomach related to acid. This can include inflammation, Helicobacter pylori and ulcers. Gastric cancer is a also a rare cause of this symptom.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome

IBS is a condition where the bowel is technically normal but behaves in a way that causes lots of troubling symptoms and embarrassment.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease

This includes ulcerative colitis and Crohns disease. These conditions have specific treatments to control symptoms. Endoscopy is necessary to make a diagnosis.

Colon Cancer and Screening

Sadly this is a common cancer which causes minimal symptoms during the early stages. Colonoscopy is needed to make the diagnosis. Screening can diagnose the condition early.

Anaemia

Iron deficiency anaemia can be caused by a number of gastrointestinal conditions. Endoscopy is often advised.

This is when a procedure is done through an endoscope in order to remove polyps, stop bleeding or widen narrow segments.
